HOT! HOT! HOT!
NO, I am not talking about that silly song from the 80's, Buster Poindexter made famous. The temps here on LI are hitting the 100 degree mark, and we are melting. I know, I know, we just endured NC with tems into the 100's, but it has been steady and the only sign of relief is maybe down to the high 80's on Friday or Saturday. I am not complaining about the summer season, but this heat will break me. I am not a person who could live in tropical climates or in heat, of any sort. My husband, on the other hand loves, I mean LOVES this weather. He sweats with pride and really enjoys it. The kids don't want to move, they want to lay on the couch all day and be lumps. I get it, but they are kids, shouldn't they want to go outside to swim in the pool???? or something of that sort. I remember going in my friend's pool almost everyday, or running through sprinklers all day, from lawn to lawn, when we would sweat, we would cool off fully clothed, in someone's sprinkler, or go to the stream, wade in and get soaked, then go home soaking wet, enjoying the cool feel of the natural water on our skins. My kids are spoiled, through our own faults, we have air conditioning in almost every room, we have two no three tvs in our house, and this silly computer. There are stereos, mp3 player, etc. WHY go out when it is better to stay in? I don't know, but I do know that melting would not be a choice if I were a kid today. To top it all off, Daniel had a double header tonite starting at 6pm, when the sun was still shimmering in the sky. I stayed for the whole first game and for a couple of innings of the second. I needed to take Cassidy home and get her ready to go to bed, no reason to have three cranky kids. Well, two, Patrick went over to another older sibling's house to swim in the pool and hang out in the central air, with two others. Scott will pick him up after the second game is over, it is almost around the corner for him from the baseball fields. Well, that is alll for now, hope that everyone is not as hot as we are here!

hey you welcome to my world,,, how is everythign,, I will go catch up
Yes, the hot humid weather just zaps the energy out of me. But the pool and running through the sprinklers sounds mighty good. I would love to do that myself. I wish we had room for a pool. I would have one for sure and be in it daily and nightly too, no doubt in this heat!
Time is speeding by so before long the cold air will move in, so hang in there!!
I'm with you on the heat.
We had the heat about 2 weeks before you. We have finally moderated into the 80's and 90's. And we actually got a little rain.
I envy you your kids playing baseball. The best part of my life to date. We had a blast coaching and going to games.
I am sick of the heat here too but we have to suffer it for months on end. Even the pool now is too much effort. How awful does that sound? Terrible....!!
I hear it gets cold there though. Not sure if I would like that now.
Take care
