On Monday, we went into NYC to the doctor. Scott had a follow up with with the oncologist who did his transplant. He had bloodwork, to check his metablolic panel, and his complete blood count. Everything was within normal range. No restrictions are imposed, no special precautions to be taken. The doctor's exact words were," You are bald, but normal." Scott chuckled, and said, I haven't heard "normal" in a long time. All the way home, I kept telling him he was normal, and he kept laughing at me. The doctor doesn't want to see him until June, that will be when we know the transplant "took." He will need a bone marrow biopsy, which is painful and not very fun to see or to feel, even with meds to numb the area. He will have more extensive bloodwork, and that will be that!
I haven't been able to write, yesterday or today, normal, has many meanings. I have begun to ease into being responsible for my mother again. My sister hurt her knee, and I took Mom to the docs last week, and food shopping this week.
Normal means doing something more than worry, so the kitchen is measured, and Scott and his Dad worked on more demolition on Sunday. The boys helped scrape some of the original flooring, but gave up when their friends arrived. Scott did some of that on Monday before the doc's too. It is really stuck, from 1965, or so.
Normal means that I am now helping to raise funds for Daniel's baseball team. Cold calling resturaunts to see if they will help us with a "night." One that we would receive part of the checks from folks who mention the team's name. There is a resturaunt that does it, we know for sure, but the person who handles that wasn't in, and I have waited long enough for a call back. It looks like I will be doing some telephone work today, hopefully I will have luck.
We will be away this weekend, Daniel has a tournament in Delaware, so this will, more than likely, the last post for the week. I still have too much laundry to do, and need to get out the suitcase and pack. I need to see if there is anything else that we need to pick up to bring with us, etc. BUSY, BUSY, BUSY! So, if you are in the area, come see the LONG ISLAND RIPTIDE play ball at SPORTS AT THE BEACH near REHOBOTH,DE. If not, go to the website: www.longislandriptide.com for updates on the team.

I am so glad to hear that things are normal and going so well in your household. "Busy" does appear to be the spring fashion word.
Sometimes normal is boring, but when you've been through the kind of months your family has, normal is a blessing!
Marilyn and I would laugh at someone calling us 'normal', too. You guys are funny. Glad to hear all is well so far. Have fun at the games. It doesn't get any better than that.
You are keeping busy and that can be a good thing at times. I'm glad Scott is normal!! :)
Do enjoy the games!
