Hey to all, thought I would blog again!
Let's see, what has been going on???????
Daniel's birthday, the 16th, my birthday, the 19th. Pasta parties for Patrick, football for both boys, baseball for Daniel.
Both boys got in to play in football! WHOO HOO! Patrick played a whole quarter on Saturday. The bees were relentless in the stands. I though it was October, and chilly, aren't the bees supposed to hibrenate or die???? I purposely wear no perfume to attract them less.
Our house is sided and roofed, Scott put up the front door, it looks gorgeous! I will post pics soon!
Sunday, Scott went with a group from his union to walk the breast cancer walk at Jones Beach Boardwalk. (Jones Beach was designed and implemented as a state park by ROBERT MOSES. Google it, you can find pictures.) Jones Beach toll booths were used in the original GODFATHER movie when Sonny was "hit." On a funny note, Scott calls the walk the "WALK FOR THE BOOB."
We laugh when he makes that reference.
When I dropped Patrick off for his game on Saturday morning, I was listening to one of the regular radio stations that I usually have playing in the car: WPLJ 95.5 (a city station) and their morning crew does Saturdays too, and they did a whole q&a about a famous evangelist who came to the area to inspire folks. Then they went off on a side note about making Jesus a contemporary figure. I ahd to giggle when one of the DJs talked about his daughter having a "Jesus is my homeboy" tee shirt. He went on and on about how she wore it on a visit with his parents and his mom almost had a heart attack. I just thought I would wet myself when he was describing his mother's reaction!
Personally, I think it is a neat marketing strategy to make it more "real" for the teenagers! Why not? If they can worship in their own contemporary lingo, why not let them? Does it really make a difference in the relative scope of things? WOuld you rather have "Jesus is my homeboy" on a tee shirt or some filthy language describing a song that one of the contemporary "artists" is promoting? Personally, I say, pick your battles. My son said he has heard of and seen the tees, so cool, right? He thinks they are neat.

I agree you have to pick your battles.
By the way, Scott renaming the walk gave me a good laugh.
