I have been slow to post this summer, sorry folks. Hope that you all keep comming back. I seriously haven't had the time. I know that may bruise a few egos, hurt a few feelings, but time management was never my strong point. With everyine's activities this summer, June turned into July; July to August, anow, August to September. Patrick is now playing JV football, has been working out with the team since the end of July. Daniel will find out information today about his Junior High team. Now add to the mix, Daniel is playing fall baseball. Practices will be difficult to make, and he may miss a couple of Saturday games at the beginning of the season, due to football practices, but that is the nature of playing a dual sport schedule. His baseball manager has been pre warned, not happy abput it, but pre warned just the same. Most kids don't play fall ball anyhow.
Cassidy starts the first grade today! I am excited! Remember the kindergarden teacher that I was so "high" on? Well, he was hired and has a first grade position in her elementary school. Guess which teacher she has????? Yes, you guessed, Mr. O! We already visited with him this week, and he was so gracious, and really glad that Cassidy was assigned to him. I am pleased that she will embark on a very important year with a great educator! Her reading has improved over the summer, and she kept it up on her own! I encouraged this, and really enjoyed watching her go to get books at the library and from our bookshelves here at home.
Today is the day I wished for, the start of the school year! Mentally, yes, I am prepared, but physically, well, that is another story. Patrick still has supplies to get, they don't release supply lists for the high schoolers, so I may be one of those crazed mothers in STAPLES, WALMART OR Kmart, trying to get what he needs by Monday, "cause that's when the teacher said I hafta have it." Please have mercy on me, I know not what I do when I am pulling that last specific notebook off of the shelf screaming,"I got it, I got IT, IGOT IT!" It should be fun, but the rest of it is done, and perhaps the teachers won't ask for too much that I don't have already. I did the general shop with the kids a few weeks ago. SPiral, Marble, Binders, filler paper, and pens and the pencils(Who could resist at $.10 a box?) so that is where we are at.
HOpe everyone who started school and who will be starting school has/had a great first day! Make the most of the education that you receive, it is important to spell and read and write and to know things like math, science and social studies! You will use them again!
