Perfect World

I just read a post from Cliff, over at: Cliff Morrow's Blog: www.cliffmorrow.blogspot.com

He wrote about things that would "be" in his version of a perfect world. I love the idea, so I "borrowed" it! I know, I am shameless, but, Cliff, sometimes you inspire. I think it would be a great idea for all of us to do this little exercize, then we would see what we agree and disagree about. After you read mine, try it, but don't forget to tell me you have done it so that I may go and read yours!

5 Things in My Perfect World:

1. There would be no disease. No Cancer, no AIDS no nothing that can be a horrible death for the afflicted and their families.

2. Civil Rights would be afforded to only those who are SUPPOSED to get them, in other words, if you aren't a legal resident or legal worker here, your "civil rights" should be afforded to you in your own country. If you are born, reside or work here legally, then you get what the rest of us who are legal! END OF STORY!

3. Child abusers, molestors and murderers would get what they really deserve. There would be no chance for rehabilitation, there would be no chance to live next door to a child, there would be no chance that it could happen again. Jail for offenders, death for murderers!

4. Health care would be affordable, or free to anyone who has paid into the system (our government, our taxes, that system) We wouldn't have to worry about the cost of pharmacuticals or operations or doctors. Our Seniors wouldn't have to worry about food or medicine. People who are working class or middle income wouldn't have to worry where the next payment or copayment was comming from for the doctor or medication. In other words, no one would be in my boat, or my husband's boat. A sixty six hundred dollar medication, with a copay of twelve hundred dollars a month. Hoping that we receive some sort of assistance for it from a private fund, or else we may not eat or pay some of the bills. No one should have to feel powerless in the face of the cost of healthcare. No one should feel that desperate, when the drug you need for maintenence is so costly.

5. Rude people would have to go to classes. The classes would teach them that it isn't nice and not appropriate to push the blind lady, to snap at others, or talk loudly on your cell phone while doing your job at the cashier. They would learn that it isn't ok to call an older person "dog" as a term of affection, and that just a simple "thank you," with a smile can make someone's day. The final exam would be to understand that others have feellings, and that kindness would be put into practice each day.

There you have it. I guess some of them are just wishful thinking, but boy oh boy wouldn't it be nice to live in a perfect world. Thanks again for the idea Cliff, it was a good thinking exercize. Now for the rest of you go ahead, try this at home, you don't need to be a professional driver on a closed course, as those car commercials say!

Can I come live with you in your perfect world? It works for me! I would also say: No 2-foot snowstorms! Snow is good, but not 2 feet at once.
