We have our house back.....

Officially, the decorations are down, we have our house back. The pictures are in different order, the knick knacks are in different places, but it isn't "Invasion of the Christmas Elves," any longer! WHOOOOOHOOOOOO! Today, Scott had to work, but I removed every drop of Christmas from the kitchen and the living room. Yesterday, I removed the outside lawn decos, the lights and decos from the "tacky" tree on the front porch, and stacked everything on the porch to be put away. Then I came into the house and removed the ornaments and the lights from the Xmas tree in the livingroom, and threw the sucker out the front door with Daniel's help. It rests peacefully by the curb awaiting the sanitation men's pick up. Hopefully it will go to become compost in our township's free compost and mulch bins. That way I may use it to help our flowers out this summer. But I digress. I vaccuumed and then it was done for yesterday. Today I took down the nutcrackers, a daunting task as we have sooooo many of them, dusted the hope chest where they were displayed, and put back the stuff that belongs there. NEXT! I took all of the tree ornaments and packaged them again, careful not to break and ever so perfectly so that they don't break in the months in the attic. I took down the statues and the Santas that I have painted over the years and packaged them up so carefully. DUsting the entertainment cabinet and the china closet as I went along. I took down and repackaged the cresche or manger scene, carefully wrapping all of the figurines so that they also survive another year. After all was said and done, I vaccuumed and then took a shower. Now I get some "me" time! The house looks pitifully empty where the tree was, but will again become "right" within a few days. I am glad that the chore is done, but in a way sad to see it go.
I returned the IPOD NANO last night, it went kerfluuy on me yesterday. Stuck in the on position and not playing a note. So, I bought another, hoping that all of the trouble that I was having was because of the machine being defective, not because of my inability to understand technology!
That is all for now, just thought you guys needed a new post out there, I was getting sick of my own "old" stuff too.

Whew, that clean-up is a chore and a half! Sorry about your iPad Nano - I've heard they are designed to go "kerfluuy" after about 18 months. I'm glad you were able to return it for a new one. :)

Sorry to hear about the Nano. Hope this new one works for you. I've got a regular iPod (20G) that was a display model from CompUSA. It's been a year and no problems. Again, let me know if you need any help with the nano.

Boy, you sure did clean! My house may end up sounding like yours next year as I just purchased some AWESOME holiday stuff for next year at 75% off from my grocery store. A $20 cookie jar for $5!
