I have been awake for quite some time now. One of the two dogs that we have has a nasty habit of not doing his business when we let him out for the last time before bed. It may also be that he is old and forgets why he is out there. Marley is his name, like Bob Marley, not Jacob. We adopted him from a shelter, as a puppy, 15 years ago. He is silly looking, kind of like a corgi and a shepherd all rolled into one. He is the "old man" amongst our two, as the other is a female, lab white, almost, and about 9 years old. We never leash trained Marley. He has always had a fenced back yard to run in, and we kind of like it that way. Clean up is a pain, as the whole yard must be combed over, but that is part of the job. The boys do that now, as a part of their weekly chores. Poor Marley, he asks to go out by running up and down on our bedroom floor, it is hardwood, so the click clack of the nails on the floor wakes me, not Scott, who is sleeping on the side of the bed where the dog is running. Three am is today's call. Marley, as it turns out didn't want to go out, he wanted water. The water bowl, which was full when we went to bed, was dry as a bone. That being said, I thought that it was outside time. I start scampering down the hallway half asleep, and poof! I step in, yes you can imagine, dog feces! Barefooted no less. I was wide awake then, wasn't I? So, now both dogs are by the back door, tiptoeing and waiting. I have to clean my foot, I am gagging and hopping! I let them out and start to clean up.
Disenfecting all the way. I know it was Marley, because this is his modus operendi. He does this quite often now, he is old. He will do it instead of asking to go out, right in front of us. I just don't know what else to do, other than give him an old blanket and lock his hiney in the kitchen. He is Scott's dog, really, he follows him around, and looks for him when he isn't here. When Scott was in the Hospital, he(Marley) was very nervous and anxious. Every little noise(which I can't believe he heard, he is almost deaf) he would perk up and sit by the front door. So that is my today story.
My Yesterday story, well Scott had a doctor appointment in the City. He went for the extensive bloodwork and the bone marrow biopsy. The numbers that were returned were pretty good, but some of the stuff wasn't back from the lab yet. The biopsy won't be back for a week, so we go back next Wednesday. Keep a good thought, will ya, please. We need the numbers to be down low enough for the docs to be satisfied enough to put him on that ridiculously expensive maintenence drug so that he can feel that the cloud is done hanging over his head! He really wants the rest of his life back, and so do I! We want him to live "normally." Hopefully that will be possible.
As for my previous post, I don't blame those who don't do the tags. Please, don't think that I would take it the wrong way. No need to explain, I have too much to worry about, let's not get into the small stuff. I don't worry about that kind of stuff! You guys are all a great group of folks, and that is what counts! That is that for today, hopefully I will have a ton to blog about in comming days, hopefully!

Well on one hand you have to feel sorry for Marley. Of course feeling sorry for him would have ended the minute I stepped in it!
Scott, you and the family are in our thoughts and prayers. Scott and all of you need to get back to normal.
Being tagged is such a small thing in the big picture. If anyone gets upset about that - well, they need a life.

Hey Miki
Great post and I had to say I honestly smirked at the dog poo bit. Sorry.....! Poor Marley and I know how hard it becomes when they get old but you wouldn't be without them.
You guys are all in our thoughts and prayers. I hope the reults come back with good news for you all.
Take care xx
Poor Marley! I know how it is. I have a cat that is about 17 and sometimes she doesn't use the litter box. She (so far) has always hit in the area near the litter box, so I put throw rugs down and she hits them and I can wash them. She hasn't done it for awhile. Poor thing can't hear and she's skin and bones. It would be awful to step in it like you did. The way you told it though kind of made us see you hopping around and gagging, so chuckling could not be avoided by me!! Sorry!! I know it wasn't funny at the time!
I do so hope all goes well for Scott. It has been an ordeal. I'll be praying for him!
I don't mind being tagged (makes me feel special) and I'll do it as soon as I think of 6 weird things about me. Hmmm.....that might be hard!!! :)
Scott and y'all are in our prayers. Good luck!!
Sorry about the doggy poo under foot. Was it still warm??
