Happy New Year to all of my blogging friends, those who read, those who comment, those who just stop by. May 2007 be a year of health and hysteria (the good kind.) I wish that for all.
Reflect upon 2006 as a year gone by, remember it is now the past, and there is nothing in the world that you can do to change it. Past is Past, let go of it and enjoy the present and plan for the future!
I am borrowing this idea from Ralph, at Homespun Headlines, here are a few of my reflections of 2006:
1. My daughter entered kindergarden, she is growing into a world that I have no part of, she does things now that are outside of the world with me.
2. My son entered 6th grade, no more sheltered elementary school, he has to make decisions and learn to live with them. The safety net is gone.
3. My oldest son entered 8th grade, his last year of middle school, he will be a high schooler at the start of the next school year. Where did my little happy baby go?
4. My husband had 2, yes 2 stem cell transplants, we are awaiting the results of the second. I thank the powers that be for him being with me every day.
5. I learned who my friends are, again.
6.There are a few more gray hairs on my head, a few less dollars in the bank, and more than a few sleepless nights under my belt.
7. I have a new kitchen, thanks to the efforts of my husband. I love my new kitchen!
8. I have a little more wisdom than I used to, I take care of my nuclear family first.
9. I am proud of who and what I am, with no regrets.
10. What used to be important, isn't. What is important, always was, just needed to be reminded.
Let me know what your reflections are, I'll be waiting.

Happy New Year. You certainly had some changes and challenges in 2006. Wishing you all the best in 2007.
I especially liked number 9 and 10 - those are powerful.
Ralph
I agree with Ralph about #9 and 10. I guess we are all a little wiser than we were last year! Here's wishing you and your family all the best in the new year!
Trouble seems to 'sharpen' our focus, doesn't it?
Good list Miki. I can't add to that.
Sorry I'm late with my response. I like #10. Since I've been doing LOTS of work at Cassi's school, and became the VP of the PTO, it seems I'm enjoying more and more working with kids. In Ohio, it's a requirement to have a Bachelor's Degree in SOMETHING to get your substitute teaching certificate. Wish I had gotten it in 1993 when the requirement was only an Associate. But, things happen with time. I might decide to start as a substitute teacher, then get my teaching license to teach full-time, but I've got 3 semesters to figure that out yet.
Happy New Year to you and family! Glad I got to become a "blog friend" with you this year!
Happy New Year, Miki! Sounds like you are off to a fine beginning - attitude makes all the difference, doesn't it? ;)
