Still Here

Thought that everyone would like to know that I am still here. I know that I haven't posted in a while, but am trying to keep current with everyone's blogs. I even looked up a new blog. SO, even though I am not here, I am there, looking in on all of you.
I just feel the need to post here about things going on in our world. Can you believe that a person as insane as the nutjob, I am not even dignifing him with a name that his mother gave to him, could break into a school for AMISH people and shoot and kill children. I mean seriously, I don't understand their culture, but they really don't hurt anyone, and they have their own rules and are self sufficient and all, what kind of person kills people like that??????? Actually, let me clarify, what kind of person kills ANYONE? Those children were trying to learn, and now what? It amazes me that school is a place to get hurt, like the looney from last week, who did unmentionable things to the teenage girls and then kills one of them, and then takes the cowardly way out, and kills himself. Why do all of these lunatics kill themselves after doing unspeakable things to others? I know, I know, I am ranting, probably not making much sense, and in general going off on a soap box, but REALLY! These are the things that should be fixed and looked at in our society, not who is the best and worst dressed celebrity. Not why we don't need same sex marriage, not why people should pay more in property taxes, not anything like this. We have enough violence and killing right here in our own land, and yet, we need (notice the sarcasm in my voice) to be overseas being the world's police force! We see adds on TV and in magazines and newspapers for feeding the hungry children in third world countries, but have children here inour own country who get a hot meal in school, and nowhere else. We have babies being born malnurished because their mothers were either too ignorant or too poor to go to the doctor when they were pregnant. These are real problems, the violence that is overwhelming our society is a real porblem, not some hypothetical nuclear weapons in a foreign oil producing country. Get real!

Ok, ok, I am finished now, I could go on and on, but I guess I have said my piece, and spoken loudly and clearly, I am horse. I actually think that I typed faster tonite than I have ever typed!
'Til next time, goodnight!

You have a lot of excellent comments. Too many people don't have their priorities straight. And a lot of people have their heads in the sand. No one wants to do anything about them though. They talk the talk but don't walk the walk. It's been this way all through the years and I don't see it changing none too soon.

I was horrified by the Amish school shooting. Sounds like a real nut to me. With all that ammuno and stuff he had I don't understand why his wife didn't have a clue about any of this or know that something was wrong with him?? We just never know what is in peoples minds I guess. So sad.

I've always wondered why we can put people on the moon and all this wonderful technology and how smart people are, but we have these problems as well. Then I read somewhere where someone said that our country was brillant but it lacked wisdom. That fit so what I was trying to say! As brillant as some people are they could solve these problems in our own country if they had to wisdom to do so. Sad isn't it?

I am in 100% AGREEMENT with your comments. I don't think there should be any reason why the US has to be the police of the WORLD. I was told from a friend, who's cousin lives in Italy that his wife, an RN, gets 6 (SIX) MONTHS PAID LEAVE for maternity leave. And how is it that EVERY country but the US allows for stuff like this, BUT, it's the US who pays for the WORLD. Believe me, I'm sick of paying for everyone else. I was LUCKY when I got 8 weeks paid leave, only because I had worked at the same company for 6 years when I got pregnant. So, I guess we're all being on the soap box on this one. AGREED with your comments about the Amish. I camp in Amish country. They are VERY hard working folks, who try to keep to themselves. I would really like to know what happened 20 years ago that made this guy the way he was that day. AND, he had kids of his own! I feel sorry for them.Okay, I'm done ranting now myself.

Cathy,
you were lucky to get paid leave for maternity. When I had my oldest, now 13, I had no type, with the exception of disability (at the time, 120dollars a week) and had to return to my job 8weeks after the baby. I was back at work before disability kicked in! With the others, I had Family Medical Leave Act, but it was 3 months of unpaid leave, and the disability was another insult! The checks and paperwork were so screwed up, it was as if I had nothing! Don't get me started on that BULL@#!* .

Rachel, you are right, how is it that no one notices when a looney has too much ammo or starts to act weird??? I notice if my children or my husband sneezes wrong!
Cheyanne, I know, many folks do talk a good game but walk a different walk. That is the way it is. Wish I had the POWER to change that too!

I think our biggest problems can't be solved with money. Fatherless children being number one.
On the killings, these guys killing themselves is a good thing in my view. Better than letting an attorney rape the system for a million dollars in legal fees and then a Federal judge letting them off on a technicality.
