Demo Has Begun

Today, my husband began demolition of our existing kitchen. He took the bricks off of the wall, where the original owners had a wood burning stove, it was not pretty, the bricks were mortared on top of the panneling that is on the walls, so in order ot get the panneling off of the walls we needed to use a crowbar, and a sledge hammer to get the bricks down. Daniel loved this and so did Patrick, they were in there trying to get a turn with the sledge hammer, and miss Cassidy, well she helped the boys haul bricks out to the front of the house. She even put on a hard hat to do the demo, it was cute, but very funny, because she has a way of driving a person batty with all of her helping. She gets down and dirty without knowing what she should be doing, cute but very very insane. All the while, this was going on, I was trying to pack up most of the dish and galssware, to leave us with the bare minimum. Scott is actually dismantling the old dining room, and we are still working with the existing kitchen. It was dusty and very loud here today, but it will be worth it in the end. I will post pictures of the finished product or the production in the works as soon as I get a new camera, that should be pretty neat!

The good part about projects like that are you don't have to try to remember where everything goes. It ALL goes.
Great family project. Can't wait to see the pics.
