I did it! I really really did it! Iactually took the Long Island Railroad(LIRR) to Manhattan and then a subway all by myself! I did it both ways to and from the hospital and to and from the city! I was very proud of myself yesterday, and I am glad that I did the whole thing, Scott looked good. He is bored out of his mind, as usual, but he is doing well. While I was visiting, the doc came in, and he said that Scott's counts have come down, but haven't fallen. NOw, if you recall, these aren't the cancer counts, these are the white blood, red blood, and platlet counts. This must happen so that the transplant takes hold. The doctor said that it will probably happenn today or tomorrow, so watch out world, he isn't going to be well, or feelling that great. Over the weekend, he was very, very tired. He was feeling very cooped up and was a little on the grouchy side, but that is all forgivable. I did get a little upset with him, and had to get off of the phone before I got to calling him nasty names, and I DO know that he doesn't mean it when he gets nasty. He deserves to feel a little or a lot nasty, it IS him in the hospital, miles away from his kids, his home and the rest of family. But anyhow,, yesterday, I detected a little less tiredness, when I phones in the morning. He sounded better than the weekend!
Cassidy went to work with Grandma, and now thinks that she too runs the office. It is, "Our" work, and she needs a phone on her desk, so that she can talk like Grandma! My Mother in Law said that she was well behaved, and that everyone commented on what a good girl Cassidy is and how well she entertains herself. The boys went off to school and I was able to go off to the train. I am very proud of my children, they are so calm and collected about comming home to an empty house, Patrick is 13 and is allowed to stay and sit with his brother for a couple of hours. I know that my sister and my in laws are only a phone call away if needed, and my neighbors are usually home right after school, should an emergency arise. They are so responsible, they even vaccuum for me when it is necessary(of course they need to be asked to do it, but it gets done.)
So that is the update on Scott, but wait, there is another tidbit, they have put him on the special diet, and he cannot shave. So, he will be a little fuzzy when he gets home, we will take him in a fuzzy state anyday!

I know full well that you women are much stronger about these things. A mans mind is quick to give in to what is bothering. (or at least I was grumpy and wanted to be left alone on many occassions) Scott is lucky to have a wife who can handle all that is happening and understands what being caged up can do to your mind. Sounds like you are keeping the home fires burning. We pray for Scott and the family. Thanks for the update.
Fuzzy and healthy is good! It sounds like Scott is doing well. I am glad you are so forgiving. I feel bad for him being cooped up. Does he have a roommate? Because that could make it worse or better. I am guess not because of the immune system though. But then at least he doesn't have his TV competing with someone else.
Thanks for the update on how it's going. Congratulations on taking the LIRR and subway too!
This ordeal is a little closer to being over. You are being very strong and so are the kids. That is wonderful. I know it's frustrating for Scott and everyone. Hang in there and "this too shall pass." You all are still in my prayers.
Hey - can you ask my daughter to sweep? Maybe she will listen to you!
This was a very nice post. It read positive and sounds like all are coping well.
Here's to the light at the end of that proverbial tunnel.
