Updates

Today, Scott finished what should be his last cycle of CHEMOTHERAPY. That being said, we have a long week ahead of us, next week. Monday, he has a Doctor's appointment here on Long Island, Tuesday, we haven't got anything. Wednesday, that is another "FREE" day, but here come the WHOPPERS. Thursday, we are going into the city for the visit with the stem cell guy, possibly a pulmonary function test, and bloodwork. Friday, we have to be in the city at 12:45 for a catheter placement, some call it a port, for the stem cell harvest the following week. The big kicker is that Scott will be given a local and a twilight anestesia for the procedure. Guess what?????? No driving for 24 hours after the surgery. OH MY! Guess who has to drive him home?? ME! I hope and pray that we make it without an incident. I really don't know what in the world I will do if I have a panic attack behind the wheel! When the nurse called today with Pre Op instructions, I nearly had an anxiety attack on the phone. I cried for about a half of an hour after I talked to her, and got yelled at by the patient. So, now I need to suck it up and judt drive like a little old lady in the middle of the chaos. I guess that can be done, right?
Well, that is all for now, signing off and taking a week to gear up for the whole thing!

Oh, bless your heart!! I used to have panic attacks and I take Paxil now so I don't have them. Driving was one horrible thing to overcome. I can not imagine driving up there. That would be a nightmare for anybody! I used to tell myself, "Calm down, there is nothing to fear. You can do this and you will be fine. It's okay, it's okay, it's okay."

So try to keep calm thoughts and don't panic. (I know, easier said than done).

I will say a prayer for you and hope all goes well.

I can feel for you...I used to be the same way. Heck, I still get anxiety attacks when I have to go to the doctor or dentist. I'll keep the two of you in my prayers and wish you the best of luck in the coming week. It'll be over before you know it.

Or,,,you could let your mind go blank....works for me. I will say it's probably easier for my mind to go blank, than some, there's not much up there to start with.
You'll do fine. Keep your eye on the prize.
