Today is the day before Halloween, and sadly, I am not ready for the kiddies. It is early evening on Sunday, my weekend is almost over and it was a full one. Patrick had a football game on Friday, he is now a starter on the "B" team! WOOOO WHOOO! They won! Daniel had a practice at practically the same time, thank GOD for Dodi, we work so well together shuffling kids to where they need to go! Patric and his friend Billy had a dance that evening, so again we were shuffling. Pizza was the fair fo rdinner, but poor Patrick just threw something together becasue of Football and the dance. Dodi brought the two of them and we picked up. Another friend, Barbara, had to go into Queens to pick up her husband, his pick up truck died there. She couldn't find a tow truck company that was willing to go in and get the truck, even though she was insured for this kind of emergency. So, we volunteered to take her son, Joe, to help keep Daniel company. They are very good pals and they also play on the baseball team together. I know in an emergency, Barbara has been there for us, so I knew that she was kind of stuck, and her 10 year old didn't want to take the ride.
Then Saturday, we had to be at the baseball field for possibly the last game of the fall season, at 1230. The game was 130. Double header, so we were there until 545. We ran home and Daniel showered, I got myself together, Scott got himself together, Patrick got himself together, and I got Cassidy in her costume. We had a suprise 40th birthday for a very dear friend, Debbie. We made it to Riverhead by 7pm. The party was great. Again, I got to see old friends and reminice, and laugh. My kids got a little insane with Jon, which pleases me so much. Literally, a year ago, Jon who was so close to their mom in her teen years, was a stranger to them, and now they are running around a party chasing after him! I am so happy that they feel that great and comfprtable around my friends, it is cool. Cassidy cozyed up to Ricky's daughter, Tori. They entertained each other all night. Cassidy even retooled her name: "Torio." I think even Scott had a good time, he needed to get out and laugh a little, to be a guest, to watch people who love each other interact and continue. I never say that we are remembering how it was, because I said it before, we have a continuing history, we have this connection, and even though we go for a few months or years, without seeing or confiding or whatever, the connection is never broken. It is like an open phone line, you exist without each other, but know when it really hits the fan, you are all there. So close, but yet far enough away to allow breathing room! I forgot my camera, so when you all get photos, send them to me, I would love to post a couple! The one dark spot on the evening, was Maria. She came down with the flu, and couldn't make the trip. We all missed you dearly, but it wasn't meant to be. We will all see one another soon, and all of us will be there! That time it will be meant to be! Roseanne, what kind of wine didn they have????????? You were drinking which? Oh yeah, RED? Right?
Seriously, we loved the party the company and the food! Jim, you make a great apprentice ghoul!

Hey, it's fixed. Now I'll go back and reread your post.
Well, anyway, Hi Miki and thanks for dropping by my blog. The comment I tried to leave yesterday was on the blog below this. I agree that a memorial beside the road is okay for a few weeks but we have people maintaining them for years now. The state workers have showed more patience than I could. Some are just a few feet off the highway and have to worked around by mowers and snow plows.
Keep up the good work and hope you'll come back. Later,,
