Good News on the Doorstep

Hopefully this will enlighten someof you, hopefully it will make you all believers in well wishes and good thoughts and especially prayer. I have always been a firm believer in postive thinking, it helps me get through a rough day now and again. PRAYER WORKS TOO! Scott has had many a person keeping him intheir prayers, and if I forget anyone who has been doing so, I am sorry. Marge, my sister, my Uncle Arthur, and Aunt Barbara, my Uncle Buster, and Aunt Marie, my Neice Jackie and her husband, Kevin, friends: Pat Meyer, Missy and Joe, The entire RIPTIDE team of Parents, my friend Barbara, who brings me humor and friendship whenever I feel down, My friends, Maris, Lisa, Dabbie, RIcky, and many others too numerous to mention. I also know that Scott's Aunt Gail, his Grandma T., his Pop pop and Grandma Mary, his parents, his Aunt Julie and Uncle Paul, and many friends and "brothers" from L138 too!
These things help. Also, my online buddie: Cathy from Maryland, and RogerBlackmore, from here in Patchogue. I can't list anymore, I know that I did forget someone, I am too fuzzy right now to remember. SO SORRY!
Yesterday, we went to the oncologist's office, and got GOOD NEWS! Scott's counts are dropping, the protein that identifies his type of MYELOMA is dropping, and he just completed his 2nd round of chemo. This is great news, as they took more blood from him yesterday, and we won't have those results until next week, so that could mean that he is approaching remission. He is scheduled to have a CT scan and a PET scan next week, and will also have an x-ray of his hip and femur the following week. Then he may, UGH, have to have another BONE MARROW harvest to test the prescence of myeloma cells, but all of these tests combined with the blood work, will tell us if remission is here. If remission happens, then we do an extra round of chemo, "just in case" and then the stem cell process starts. SO that is where we are.
That is all fro now, just wanted to share the good stuff.
