Away

Thank you all for your kind words on the passing of Marley. Everyone here, including our friend Sugar is doing a little better. Sugar is getting paid a lot of attention by the kids, I guess they are thinking that she is lonely too. I try to spoil her a little with a little one on one time when everyone is at work or school. She needs a bath, and I think that next week, I will be attempting to give her one.

One of the reasons that I am posting today is that I want everyone to know that I have really been enjoying the weather andmy mood has been better as a result. The weather since Saturday has been sunny and warm. The kids took out the shorts and have been wearing them constantly. At night, when the sun goes down, it gets a little chilly, or should I say, downright cold. I close all of the windows and we don't really need the heat. THis weather is my favorite. I love it in the 70's during the day and in the 40's at night. It would be ideal for me to live in this type of climate all year long. As I said, the weather does affect my mood. Perhaps I should go and see the doctor about this???!!!

We will be going away at some time on Friday, a weekend jaunt. It will be to Deleware again, for the first RIPTIDE tournament of the season. It is a much needed break for all of us and a great change of scenery. It is a familiar place, a fun place, a place where the kids can wander around and we can feel safe. We set the boundaries for them and they follow them. It is a nice tradeoff.
So, pardon me if I don't post until sometime next week, I have busy, busy days ahead of me. I will attempt to start packing tomorrow after baseball and tee ball. I can at least pack the garment bag with all of the uniforms and the protective under gear in it. I also need to foodshop,as we are only going away for a weekend, for us and my mother. I also have to shuffle kids to games and practices.
Thursday I have a dental appointment. It is the follow up after my endodontic root canal proceedure. I had to see my dentist to put in the permanent filling. I still want to get out and about to see if I can pick up a new pair of sneakers or casual type shoes to wear/bring to DE. Scott needs tee shirts, as his are getting or have gone shabby. So, again, see all next week!

Walking Down Memory Lane

Catherine, from All THings English,( see Catherine's Blog in daily reads) posted a beautiful tribute to her son on his birthday. Go check it out, I was crying like a big baby here this morning. It gave me an idea. I will post pictures of my children when they were little and now, so that you all can(YAWN, WAKE UP, I KNOW I AM BORING YOU TO DEATH) appreciate how much they have grown. Let's hope that blogger lets me do it!

The first photo is one that was taken on an Easter SUnday at my parent's house. Daniel was about two and Patrick was about 5. The second photo was taken about 3 years ago in Montauk. It was at Gossmann's Dock, a sort of small square with shops and a Large resturaunt, named Gossman's. The third is of Patrick, my 14 year old, with our first dog, Rascal, he looks to be about a year, maybe on the verge of 2. The next photo is Cassidy the day she came home from the hospital. My mom bought the "comming home" outfit and the hat was sooooo big. I thnk it might fit her now, at 5. Th last picture is of Daniel, he is sitting in a "snuggly" seat, on our deck at the house we lived in in Westhampton. He is aobut 7 or 8 months old, but it is one of my favorite shots of him, love the funny face! There are times that he still makes it at 11.

IT WORKED!

Here is a pic of Cassidy, Mikey(Daniel's Buddy) and Daniel. THey are standing on the moon! It was worth a shot right? Patrick was too cool to do this, being 14 and all, he had moved on to another exhibit. I love this one because the mural is a great backdrop for a picture. Like I said they look like they are having a great time don't they????? Love the serious faces on the boys, trying to be cool for the camera. I have Mikey's mom's permission to post this photo so don't be alarmed! Anyhow, thought you would finally finally like to see at least one picture of the museum trip.

The Cradle of Avaition

Thought that we would do something for the kids' vacation. This was our something. I made an effort to drive into Nassau County to the Cradle of Avaition Museum. It was cool! We, the kids and I went, with Daniel's friend Mikey. It was interesting to see the planes and the real beginnings of avaition, much of which can be traced back here to Long Island. Fairchild /Republic Avaition, a company that used to manufacture planes for the government, and Grumman, now, Northrup Grumman, that used to do all of the fighter jets for the navy. The Blue Angels used to if not still, fly in F-14 fighter aircraft. My brother as well as many of the men and women during WWII worked at the two plants here in Bethpage and Calverton.

A side note, I tried to upload pictures, but I couldn't so I will post the words here and then try to get the images down for the next blog. I am getting annoyed here!

Oh, And if you notice, I was able to get links attached to the side bar on my Blog. Just let me know in the comment section if you don't want to be there. If I forgot you, I am sorry, let me know that too! And I will try to get your blog or webpage up there.
