Heading Home

Thought I would drop a line to let everyone know that we survived the TROPICAL STORM/DEPRESSION. We came to Maryland on Friday, left the house in the wee hours of the morning, and arrived here at about 8am. We got ourselves settled and it was raining, not a pelting rain, mind you, but a steady rain. The group of us who were here, some had arrived the previous evening, got into our cars and headed for CAMDEN YARDS, the Baltimore Orioles Baseball Park, for the tour. That was a great tour! I am happy that we went on it, all of us, including the little kids were very interested. After that we went to the INNER HARBOR. BUT, and this is a big BUT. IT was raining, not steady, but sideways raining, so that the 3/4 of a mile walk to the harbor from the ballpark was a dripping mess. We had lunch in a resturaunt, and we, our family, headed back to the hotel. I would have loved to have seen the rest of the inner harbor, but there was no way in Hades that I would have walked around to see the sights in that rain. I was soaked, everyone was. Anyhow, Patrick gets a cell call from his friend, who has a brother on the team. We aren't comming, we turned around, the tournament is cancelled. We giggled and said that she was playing a joke on him. It was confirmed a little later when I called the manager to ask if it was the truth. IT WAS! So, we stayed another day, the rain ws horrible and we decided that we shouldn't risk the ride home. I was very nervous about it and Scott, who really was hell bent on going, conceeded to my thinking. Not that we were going to do anything special in the rain, but at least we could say that we were safe. We all, those 9 families that stayed, went to the local mall and walked around, the kids brought spending money, even Cassidy, and if they felt like spending it,they did, if not, we didn't spend the extra. Cassidy bought herself a pair of earrings, she picked them out, innexpensive ones. She also bought two pairs of flip flops at OLD NAVY. I was going to buy the sandals, but, at five, and bieng a girl, she felt that she wanted to spend her money, so we let her. She was so excited to hand the cashier her money, it was cute.
Anyway, her I am in the lobby of the Ramada Inn in Edgewood MD. The kiddies are still sleeping, they should be, the boys played football on the grass by the pool for at least 3 hours. That is what they will remember from this trip, and the tour. Scott is getting a cup of coffee at the "continental breakfast," and I am packed and ready to go in better weather than yesterday!
It is only a 3 1/2 or 4 hour ride, not too terrible, signing off from MD, that is all for now.

I remember when my daughter paid for her first purchase. She told the cashier to keep the change! LOL! I told her it wasn't a restaurant, we don't need to leave a tip. It was only .09 cents, but it was still pretty funny. I needed to nip this little quirk in the bud right away!

Ahhh I'll bet the team was sooo disappointed but that tour sounded great.. I'll bet it was still nice to be away from home for a while. All in all it sounded good to me.
