Merry Christmas

Hello to all in "Blogger Land." I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year. If you don't celebrate Christmas, then what ever holiday you do celebrate, may it be filled with fun, joy and love. Things here are a little crazed, but in a quasi control. Still have all , yes, ALL of the wrapping to do, but the tree went up, on Tuesday, amid chaos, the kids and I did it. Scott was at work, his night job. The tree began to lean on Wed. morning, and I couldn't get it any tighter in the stand. Scott threatened to get down on his belly and try to get it straight. Yeah, right, like I was going to let that happen. I went to a drawer in the kitchen, and did what my parents did oh so many years ago, I tied the string around the top of the tree, and tacked it into the wall behind the silly thing. I really don't care how tacky it looks, my kids have their tree, it is decorated and lit, we give it water everyday, and you know what? It is fine, not perfect, but just fine! Somehow, my tolerance for perfect has worn thin! I still have to go to the store to get the little odds and ends that I forgot when I picked up the rest of the stuff for Christmas dinner. I will do that as early as possible this morning, I don't want to get caught up in insanity this afternoon. Tonite we will do the "marathon" wrap, and that will be that. The presents will come out when all is said and done tomorrow night, and the kids will have a few to open on the morning of Christmas. I have found that this year, size and quantity doesn't matter, they have something, and that is fine. Some of the presents are from their lists, and others, aren't. They all have an equal ammount, and that is what matters.
Update on Scott, he has graduated to walking with a cane, something the Doc didn't think was going to be possible until January, but I guess he didn't realize that he was dealing with the strongest willed human on the planet. We saw the Stem cell Doc the other day, amid transit strike too! We are in the planning stages for the transplant, harvest first, and then the transplant. He has to do some blood tests for this, bone marrow exam again, ekg, dental exam, and the like. The hospital has to review his case and approve him, and then it gets the go ahead. He is now off all of his medication, including the prophalitic anti virals and antibiotics. He has to be clear before they can give him the meds to draw out the stem cells. I will be less nervous when we are given a date for the harvesting, then I won't feel as if he is going to injure himself by not having the meds. These doctors know what they are doing, it is the "king" of myeloma talking and his partners. I know that in my heart, but I still worry about him.
Anyhow, hope all is great in the Holiday mode for eveyine out there.

Merry Christmas to you and yours. Great to hear that Scott is ahead of the doctors' projections for recovery - that's a great Christmas gift.
