Hello all!
Scott started Chemo again this past Tuesday. He went again on Friday, and so far things are good. He is tolerating the treatment well. This is a God send, I don't think he would be as positive as he is without the treatment being so "good" for him.
His calcium levels and his IGA proteins have gone down already, that is a good sign and the oncologist is very pleased with those results. We are meeting with the "stem cell guy" this week, at ST. Vincent's, in Manhattan. Scott's oncologist wants us to be seen, consulted and aquainted with the procedure, to possibly start the scheduling process. This is a good thing. This means that thisngs are going well and positively. He goes back to see the orto/oncologist on the 20th of October. The original appointment was for the 6th, but he has the thrid cycle of chemo, 2nd treatment, that day.
Now the kids. Daniel's baseball team won a tournament, for their division, over the Labor Day weekend. This was the first time they played together under the new name and they took a tournament! They are a strong team! They won the season opener doubleheader, yesterday, too.
Patrick has been going to football practice. He is really trying out, but they don't call it that in Jr. High. The coaches told the group of kids that there would be cuts made, but that everyone makes the team. HUH? They apparently only have 50 slots, so they take the best of the bunch. I hope that Patrick makes it, he really wants to play. He gives his best, and that is a great thing, so I hope that it works to his advantage. As this progresses I will write about it more.
Cassidy is growing like a weed. We went through some clothes that I had been given by a friend, different sizes and such, and also through some clothes that I "held back" from last year. You know, a couple of pairs of overalls, jeans, sweatshirts, etc, ones that were big on her. The "hold backs" well, some were ok, but most were no way. The overalls were almost a half inch too short, although they would have fit her everywhere else. That made me sad, the overalls were actually Patrick's, that I found in a box in the attic. Daniel wore them too, and I thought it would be cute for her to have them, but not her!
We did school shopping already, My in-laws took Cassidy for her winter wardrobe, and then took the boys. We are busy now weeding out the stuff that doesn't fit, or is ripped, stained etc. Patrick will hand down some things to Daniel, and that is always good, and Daniel will be able to hand down stuff to my friend's son, or to Cassidy if it isn't too boyish. We don't just get rid, we make sure that things go to where they are needed.
Anyhow, that is all for now, I will write more as I know it.
