New News

First, I would like to say that Scott is taking the chemotherapy well. He only had one problem, and that was last Sunday, into Monday. He was exhausted, like jello, and on Monday he was cold, and needed a lot of rest. This all happened after the DOXIL, which he only gets once a month. The Velcade, which he gets everytime he goes for chemo, he has been tolerating well. Today he goies for a haircut, he is going to cut it short so that if, and that is if, his hair starts to fall out, it won't be so dramatic as to frighten the kids. As ofWednesday, (past) he is on crutches. Apparently the CT that he had on Monday showed severe deterioration in his hip. The MYELOMA lesion is so large that there is almost no bone left there. The Doc immediately told him to get a set of crutches so that he won't break the bone. We are going for a consult with an ORTHAEPEDIC on Tuesday. He may have to have surgery to strengthen the hip, becasue the healing process is a long one, and the danger of him breaking the hip is very eminent. Scott gets more and more frustrated by the day, he went from being an active moving working human being, on Monday the 8th of August, to doing absolutely nothing by Tuesday the 9th. Now, he can't get himself a cup of coffee because he can't carry it! I am here to help him, but I know that frustrates him too. He hates it when I have to "wait on him." Scott is the type of man that can't sit still, he needs to be doing physical things, mowing the lawn, clipping the shrubs, fixing things, and that is what is making him so very angry, he can't do it himself.
I have been trying to tell him, the oncology nurses have been trying to tell him, this is a point in your life that you must accept that you need to slow down. In a few months, you can be your normal self, you can do your "stuff," but for now, sit and do nothing, get well, get better, get stronger.
So, that is all for now, keep praying, thinking happy thoughts, keep positive for us, we are going to beat this thing, it won't get my Scott!
