Well, Roger, thank you for the invitation, and I will consider it, but as I have said, I am not a "regular" on the Sunday circuit. I enjoy going to church when I go, I just don't make the effoert. I actually enjoy my parish, it feels "homey." Something I didn't feel as a child being a member of a parish that was uncomfortable to say the least. my children even feel at home during the mass. Tha makes all the difference in the world to me.Rick, you can get on the soapbox all you want, you know I love to listen to you, and read what you write! My parish teaches that church isn't just a building, that God is worshiped everywhere. I think that is the Fransiscan Fathers' approach, they are so open and caring, not like the staunchness of other orders of priesthood! The parish of St Joseph the Worker serves the community, in many more ways than one, they service Catholic and non Catholic folks, reach out to those in need and help, really help. They offer to those around them, a food pantry, spiritual counseling, fun, and spiritual nourishment. They also participate in the interfaith nutrition "soup kitchen." It is a place that fosters community, not just Catholicism(probably spelled wrong.) They have all of the right ideas, just need to follow the "rules"which I guess isn't a bad thing, right? anyhow, as I have said, I don't need a building to foster my relationship with GOD, youknow how that one goes. I too believe that we follow what our conscience and our "inner voice" tells us is right or wrong, and need to live with the consequences of our actions, we will be held accountable for them when the time comes. I don't judge people on what I believe, but try to get to the root of what they believe, as I hope that people do the same for me! Religion, spirituality, what a plethora of ideas and controversies! I won't fight over it. I am too American for that: Freedom of Religion, Freedom of opinion, Freedom of ideas, and the exchange of those ideas! So be that as it may, it is what it is in my and everyone elses beliefs!
This was supposed to be a comment to two people who posted on my blog, but as I reread my ramblings, I decided that I should publish it as a post.

No way, I'm not asking about Politics!
Rick, I love it when you climb on that soapbox, as I said too, we all sin, and we must deal with it in a way that makes us comfortable in our relationship with GOD. I agree with you, how we live our lives is our business, and you are right, people who JUDGE, aren't ususlly those who are invited into our lives, they are the ones that peek and sneek into our lives. That is why I say take me for who I am, not fo rwhat you want me to be, I am here becasue I breathe, don't try to make me something you need or want, that isn't who I am. Get to know me, as you have over the years, and then and only then can I defend myself and my life to you or anybody else out there in the big world. I don't even defend myself to myown mother, why wold I do it to a religious hirearchy? Now, help me down off of the soap box, we will hold hands as we jump! I love you Rick, for WHO, not what, you are. You are my friend, that is all that matters to me, not your religious beliefs, not your sexual orientation(OOOH! I am politically correct!) I love you because......we have history we have today we have tomorrow. That is why we will always be together, you are there when I need you, I am here when you need me, life keeps rolling, and we are in it together. Keep patching the life raft, I may need to dive in at sometime, and I will keep patching mine, you can dive in whenever you want!
Love,
M
I am not usually politically correct either, I don't use all of the BUZZ words for the real ones! I say what it is and let the chips fall where they may.
Hey, When the heck are you going to update your blog??????? I know you are back to work by now, huh?
I enjoy reading your stuff, and miss it when you don't write!
Sorry for all of the religious stuff, I just get going once in a while, and my musings take over my thoughts. This is a great place to let it all hang out as it may!
Love,
M
