Is this what Mother's Day is supposed to be?

Mother's Day was a disaster. My son's game was cancelled, due to poor field conditions, and my husband got sick. Now, let me tell you, when my husband gets sick, he goes down. The man fights his colds and coughs etc. until there is no fight left. Well, Sunday there was just no fight left, none, nothing. He was ok, sort of, in the morning, (early,) but by 11 am, he was down. Literally, asleep with a fever in the bed, down. By noon, he was awake, walking around with a blanket wrapped on his body, fully dressed, shivering. Then he planted himself on the couch, and passed out again. My two boys went off galavanting with their best pals and weren't heard from for a couple of hours. My daughter acted like a monkey on crack all day! She was jumping out of her skin to take care of Daddy, while I was trying to get her away from him. I cooked a nice "Sunday" type of dinner, which the boys were late for, I might add, and then they took off again, leaving me to clean up the mess. So, by 8pm, I was exhausted, annoyed, and upset. My husband kept apologizing and apologizing, yeah, like getting sick was his fault. The kids didn't think it was a problem that they didn't even load the dishwasher, or take the garbage out, I mean, why would it be a problem? Isn't that what Mom is supposed to do on Mother's Day????? You see, the phone rang, their best friends were on it, and that took precidence over every little thing that could have been more important here at home. I didn't even get the opportunity to answer when the question came,"Can I go to B's house?" (three doors down.)
I was so upset, that I just sat down on the couch, maybe the exhaustion took over, maybe that made it all the worse, but really? Mother's Day is just another Sunday in 52 weeks of Sundays, I don't want it to come next year. That is all for now, just venting, let me know if any of you out there have this going on in your house.
