My friend from Florida sent me one of those emails that say,"you know..........." this one was about growing up in the 80's. I didn't grow up, as the term is supposed to apply, in the 80's, I arrived in the 80's. I became an adult in the 80's. Many of the things did apply to me though, like BIG HAIR. I tried so hard to get my hair to look like the girls in the clubs, but to no avail. I have thick naturally curly hair, it is impossible to make it behave, especially in a sweaty club! The humidity in those places kills it. I did have hi top rebokk sneakers, leg warmers a, a head band and of course the plastic ring to hook up your tee shirt because the thing was too damn big to begin with. Now listen, I was never a skinny chick, so the big tee shirt was a good thing for me. I still wear my tees big and love the comfort of it. And yes, I can still sing the words to "Shot through the Heart," and even though Bon Jovi, is a card carrying member of the Dad club, I still think he is hot hot hot! So, I have aged, so has every other member of the 80's club. I enjoyed my self with the best and the worst of people, I took in and took to heart every hedonistic principle that was out there in the 80's. Now, I learned, life isn't all about me, me , me, it is about a lot more. I can laugh about those times, I can say that I enjoyed those times, but would I want to relive any of them, well...........with the vision that I have today, hell yes.
And I NEVER EVER thought PSYCHE was a cool word!
