Several Days Packed into a Rant

For those of you that think that I may have slipped off the edge of the Earth(because it might be flat, you know,) I haven't. Life around here has been a little more than insane. The kids activities have kept us hopping, and sometimes jumping, and sometimes flying. It was a lot to handle with both boys in baseball, football, and whatever else may have come along, but now, add the youngest one to the mix and Poof! Life becomes insane! For example, I will give you our typical Saturday, this past one: 830am: Daniel needs to be in East Moriches, a town that is about 15 miles away, for a 930 am game, Cassidy needs to be at her game/practice by 9am, and Patrick needs to be at his game by 1130 for a 12pm start. Needless to say, we were split as parents for almost the entire day. We met back up for dinner with my inlaws and Scott's brother and sister in law, and shopping afterwards for the kids Spring/Summer clothes. As I have said before, my in laws are great people, they are extremely generous to me, and to my children. My mother in law enjoys shopping more now that she has Cassidy, you can see it on her face when she is "helping" Cassidy choose clothes. Girls are fun to shop for, and can be very dangerous, but it is my Mother in law that becomes dangerous when she is in the store! TEE HEE! a little joke there, she loves every minute! So does Cassidy.

Sunday was my hubby's 41st birthday, he finally caught up to me, and reminded me that I am closer to 42 than he his! I sort of vegged around here and he planted plants in the flower beds and in the veggie garden. Last year, we did neither, because we were too busy working on the kitchen, and by the time we realized that there was nothing in the ground, we realized that it was too late. So the soil had a rest, and it will be the better for it this year. Hey, maybe we will get a "real" tomato from our own garden this year! We haven't had any luck since we moved here with the veggie production. Scott scaled it back a little this year and it may take a little less maintenence and a little better care! We will see, and I will keep you posted on that one. We had a nice dinner, london broil, baked potatoes, veggies and a salad. Then I had made a boxed "funfetti" cake and iced it with m&ms on the top and had cake and coffee. Cassidy called it a party and invited his parents to come for cake. I hadn't planned on having anyone over, it isn't something we do for our birthdays, but since Cassidy insisted, it was done!
Monday dawned quietly, Patrick had a school home game and Daniel a practice, no problem, or so we thought. It turned out that we had a mandatory meeting to go to regarding Patrick's school trip to Philadelphia. WHAT?????? When were the kids told about this????? Oh, a memo was sent home with them on FRIDAY, yes folks, FRIDAY! If it wasn't for Billy telling his mother that she had to go, I wouldn't have heard about it at all! SO we ran home and picked up the other car, Scott ran to get Daniel at Practice along with Tyler, Billy's brother, they are on the same team, and are best friends like the older two, and off to the meeting we(Patrick andme) flew. In the mix of things, Cassidy was sent home with an earache, so she had to go to the doc today. Turned out to be an ear infection, so I am glad that I took her.
Yesterday, Scott who is off from work for the week, ripped out our main bathroom. Right down to the subfloor. tile flying off of the wall and all. His Dad came over to help, and we are now in the process of putting in plumbing, lighting, outlets and the like. I have to pick tile for the floor, a medicine chest, a vanity a toilet and a sink. He wants this done by the morning tomorrow, but I have to bring home the medicine cabinet so that he can see if it needs to be framed out and sunk in the wall! HOw the heck am I supposed to do that???????? UGH! I have a dental appointment to finish the two root canals that were done on WED of last week! OH well, just another day in my life, no rest for the weary! So I will go and then drop off the medicine chest on the fly, and run like a nut to the dentist, hope my IPOD is charged, I need it for the dentist! Scott is going to put Cassidy on the bus in the morning, so that I can be at the home improvement store that begins with and"L" early in the morning! WHEW! Maybe things will slow down a bit by Memorial Day, in time of rthe "at home" tournament! YARD SALE THIS WEEKEND, to get rid of more stuff and raise more funds for the team! Guess where it is? yup, here. OH well signing off to get the laundry done!

Hi, Honey, I'm Home

Sorry that I haven't been blogging lately, we haven't had a computer that was operational in this house for more than a day here or there. The computer went down again on Saturday, but came back up for me by Tuesday. I checked my email, read a few blogs, and poof by the afternoon it was down again. My husband disconnected it and took it to a repair guy who was supposed to get in touch with us by Wednesday. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday came. Friday, late afternoon came and I got a call. The computer was fixed and sitting in the shop for a couple of days and I guess someone forgot to call you...DUH! So that is my saga. TOday is another busy day here, Patrick has a practice beginning at 830am, Cassidy has a game at 9am her very first ever! Daniel has nothing today, but doubleheader tomorrow beginning at 8am. Patrick has a game today at2pm for his league Baseball. It is supposed to be beautiful and almost 70 degrees out today. I feel sorry that I cannot watch Patrick's practice, but he gets it! Thank goodness he is so well adjusted.
I actually blogged in a notebook, just random thoughts written one day, maybe that will be the fodder for future blogs, don't know, but keep the notebook handy in case I feel like jotting things down.
Next weekend we will be away, DE for the first Riptide tournament of the year. It will be fun, we have a family tagging along for fun! Mikey, Daniel's buddy is also great friends with a couple of other kids on the team, so his parents decided to come down with us to see what we all rave about! It should be fun, their room is right next to ours, and Mikey's mom, Linda and I get along great. We will hoist a few drinks and have a lot of laughs.
I am hosting a candle party at the end of May. It should be fun, Linda used to be a consultant for the company and had a party this past wednesday. Her friend who is a consultant did the demo. They have both decided that I am a grreat candidate for consultant. If I can get my 6 parties to demo, I get my kit and poof, I am a candle lady! I guess I will give it a try. No sweat off of my shoes, it would be fun to get out and to do something different a few nights a week, and earn money doing it. We will see.

Tired and Still Going: Warp Speed Ahead

I haven't bolgged in a few days, so bear with me. The weekend flew by in a rush, the yardsale helped make it go very fast. We did very well, making a nice profit for the boys' team. It is very good to know that so many families are willing to give up their free time to do this for the kids. I was exhausted and achy all over. It was so worth it though. We will be doing it again in May, so we will be going through the attic and the basement room again, and again. Many other families will be dong the same. Hopefully this one will be just as succesful.

Easter is upon us, and I am cooking. This is the first time that I have done Easter dinner. When my Mom was well enough and my Dad was alive, she always did the Easter thing. Dad got sick and my sister picked up the Easter thing. Now, it is up to me. My sister is going with her daughter and family to her husband's parents' home for Easter dinner. So, I decided that I would invite my in laws, Scott's brother and his wife and her family and my Mom. I am doing the traditional ham, mashed potatoes, veggies (don't know what kind yet) and a few Polish dishes, pierogies(my first attempt) Kielbasa and Saurkraut. I am going to try. That is all that I can say, if it works out, goody, if not then next year, I don't do it at all.
Had to go to pick up Patrick at baseball practice, school ball. He made the first cut! Now, the practices this week will determine the ones that make the team. He loves the sport, so hopefully that plus his skill, plus the fact that the coach knows that he is a hard worker, will get him a spot on the team. His best friend didn't make the cut, and both were disapointed, but that is the nature of the game.

Sunny and Clear

This weekend was beautiful, Spring is in the air! Today is going up into the high 40's and no wind in sight! Yesterday was a bit breezy, but very nice. So nice in fact that Daniel's baseball team had an outdoor scrimmage against another local club. We allowed him to play in the scrimmage, but his manager talked to him about his grades too. We are all on the same page as far as that goes. I think he gets it. I added a couple of links to my "Places to visit" section, so enjoy. That is all for now, I am going to get a load of laundry on to the line, it is going to be that nice out today!
